Therapy and Counselling in Northamptonshire and Warwickshire Area

Hello and welcome to my website.

I have been working in the area of counselling for over 10 years. I have worked in the NHS, the Private and Voluntary sectors, including Bereavement Counselling and Domestic Abuse and sexual violence service in Chesterfield. I am committed to providing counselling and couples counselling in a safe, confidential and non- judgemental environment.

I have a Post Graduate Diploma in Gestalt Pastoral Counselling and I see Individuals and couples.
I am also a trained Eating Disorder Therapist and currently work with adults aged 18 years and over with disordered eating and Eating Disorder diagnoses.

I am a full registered member of BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and ACC ( Association of Christian Counsellors).

How I work

I work with both individual adults and couples with a here and now relational emphasis of the Gestalt approach, but I also draw on other approaches and trainings where necessary, so my way of working is ‘integrative’. I tend to work with what feels would be most appropriate and helpful for that person and the issues they have brought.

I hope to enable my clients towards healing, resolution and empowerment-and to be more liking of themselves. To take their present and future into their own hands and not be led by the past.

My priority is to develop a trusting, confidential and non judgemental therapeutic relationship with clients that helps them explore their own understanding of themselves and patterns of thinking, feeling and behaviour.

I work on an open-ended basis or for an agreed time period, and I invite prospective clients to an initial session with me to see if I might be the right counsellor for them.

My work with clients is informed by modern neuroscience and a compassionate understanding of how the Central Nervous System is affected by trauma.

I am trained in the theory and practice of Emotional Freedom Technique, a safe and scientifically proven technique to reduce trauma symptoms.

I have a Postgraduate Diploma in Gestalt Pastoral Counselling and I am an Eating Disorder Practitioner, having trained with the National Centre for Eating Disorders in the UK.
I currently see adults 18 years and over in my private practice.

I also work with couples, and specialise in counselling Neurodiverse couples where typically one partner is Neurotypical and the other is Neurodivergent with the traits of autism (and often dyslexia, dyspraxia or ADHD) whether diagnosed or undiagnosed.
I work to be an effective bridge so that couples can identify, understand and explore their similarities and differences and the different patterns of relating from an Adult Attachment perspective.

We work together to identify what can and cannot be changed in the relationship and the different needs of each partner in this process.
