Hello and welcome to my website.

I have been working as a Counsellor for 15 years. I have worked in the NHS, the Private and Voluntary sectors, including Bereavement Counselling and Domestic Abuse and sexual violence service in Chesterfield. I am committed to providing counselling and couples counselling in a safe, confidential and non- judgemental environment.

I have a Post Graduate Diploma in Gestalt Pastoral Counselling and I see Individuals and Couples who are Neurotypical as well as Neurodivergent. I aim to provide a safe, inclusive, compassionate and nonjudgmental relationship in my work with all clients, irrespective of their age, gender, neuro type, sexual orientation, race, ability or religion/faith. I am also a trained Eating Disorder Therapist and currently work with adults aged 18 years and over with disordered eating and Eating Disorder diagnoses.

I am a full registered member of BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy)

How I work

I work with both individual and couples with a here and now relational emphasis of the Gestalt approach, but I also draw on other approaches and trainings where necessary such as CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), so my work is Integrative of other models of Counselling. I tend to work with what feels would be most appropriate and helpful for that person and the issues they have brought.

I hope to enable my clients towards healing, resolution and empowerment-and to be more liking of themselves. To take their present and future into their own hands and not be led by the past.

My priority is to develop a trusting, confidential and non judgemental therapeutic relationship with clients that helps them explore their own understanding of themselves and patterns of thinking, feeling and behaviour.

I work on an open-ended basis or for an agreed time period, and I invite prospective clients to an initial session with me to see if I might be the right counsellor for them.

My work with clients is informed by modern neuroscience, Polyvagal Theory and a compassionate understanding of how the Central Nervous System is affected by trauma.

I have received further training on Neurodiversity and have a lived experience of ND myself.

I am trained in the theory and practice of Emotional Freedom Technique, a safe and scientifically proven technique to reduce trauma symptoms.

I have a Postgraduate Diploma in Gestalt Pastoral Counselling and I am an Eating Disorder Practitioner, having trained with the National Centre for Eating Disorders in the UK.

I currently see adults 18 years and over in my private practice.
